The Concept
The pillar of connectedness shows a cross-section of our society. You can see people from 15 nations of all social classes and age groups without any preference.
All profiles integrated into the Column are anonymous and thus symbolic representatives of the community.
This Column was financed solely by crowdfunding and sponsors and realized with the help of many volunteers.
The Column
Already under construction is a 7.5 meter high, octagonal steel column that is illuminated from the inside and rests on a three-tiered concrete foundation. It stands symbolically for a connecting togetherness and serves as a meeting point.
A compass rose in the crown indicates further pillars (hopefully) and the connectedness with the whole world.
Visions
The idea is to set up columns all over the city and the country to make our connection visible.
Here all people from the surrounding area are involved and can participate. They are people from all strata and age groups of our society, without any preferences or evaluation.
